Located in Oceanside to Encinitas, San Diego County, Carlsbad City Beach is an average to mediocre beach break that offers up some fun peaky waves in certain conditions. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Carlsbad City Beach?
Gets good between waist-high and head-high. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This spot is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will be uncrowded due to the length of the beach (4/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the South and Southwest. Works on all tides.
