Located in North Los Angeles County, Secos is a fun right-hand reef set-up that offers up some rippable sections over a kelp bed keeping things glassy. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a cobblestone bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Secos?
Gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will get hectic with crowds (8/10). The best winds are from the North. The best swells are from the South or Southwest. Best on a mid-tide.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 19 degrees. In winter we recommend wearing a 4/3 when water temperatures drop to 14 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
