Located in Central South Oregon, Newport is a fun beach break that breaks over a sand bottom. The waves here are straightforward to surf and break for up to 50 meters. They serve up powerful sections that demand a bit of respect to surf. Large campground nearby if camping is your thing.
What are the best surf conditions for Newport?
Gets good from waist high to triple overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here on smaller days and a shortboard when bigger. This beach is suitable for all levels of surfers depending on the size of the swell. The surf here is somewhat consistent (5/10) and is generally uncrowded (4/10). Offshore winds come from the East. The best swells are from the Northwest, South, Southwest, and West. Works best on mid to low tides.
