Located in East Anglia, England, Cromer is an average stretch of long beach that offers up some good sections for performance surfing over a sand and flint bottom. The waves here are easy to surf and can break for up to 50 meters. The large pier creates some good banks. The west side prefers large NW swell, but the east side serves up some wedgy rights on N-E Swells. Keep an eye out further east for a punchy left next to a rock groyne.
What are the best surf conditions for Cromer?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard as the size increases. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here hardly ever breaks (2/10) and will usually be uncrowded (2/10). The best winds are from the Southwest. The best swells are from the East, North, Northeast, Northwest, and Southeast. Works best on a mid to high tide.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 7 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
