Located in Newquay, England, Whipsiderry is not a bad beach break that offers up some decent waves for performance manoeuvres with fewer crowds than other beaches. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. Favours lefts a bit more than rights.
What are the best surf conditions for Whipsiderry?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is somewhat consistent (5/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the Southeast. The best swells are from the Southwest, Northwest, and West. Works on a low to mid tide best.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best in the 9-degree water. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
