What are the best surf conditions for New Jetty/South Jetty?
Gets good between waist high and triple overhead. We recommend riding your standard shortboard when bigger here, but a longboard will work when smaller. Intermediate and advanced surfers will have the most success here. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) but there is a bit of a localism factor (5/10). The best winds come from the Northeast. The best swells come from the Northwest, South, Southwest, and West. The best tides are dependent on the sandbars.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to around 17 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
