Located in Southern Orange County, Southern California, Laguna Beach (Brooks Street) is a collection of excellent reef breaks that unloads over a rock and sand bottom. The waves here are not too difficult to surf but break heavily for about 50 meters providing great sections for carves and hacks.
What are the best surf conditions for Laguna Beach (Brooks Street)?
Gets good between waist high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when bigger. Laguna Beach (Brooks Street) is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here is semi-consistent (5/10) and will be crowded when it is good (8/10). It needs a mid-sized winter swell from the Northwest or West to work well. The best winds are from the East. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 20 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when the water temperature drops to 15 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
