Located in Palos Verdes, Southern California, Cabrillo Point is an excellent right point break that breaks over a boulder covered bottom. The waves here can be a bit tricky, but peel for up to 150 meters providing great sections for hacks, carves and cruising.
What are the best surf conditions for Cabrillo Point?
Gets good starting at waist high all the way to overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here or shortboard if bigger. This point is best for intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here is not super consistent (4/10) and will be crowded when it is on (8/10). The best winds are offshore from the North. The best swells are from the South, Southwest, or West and big. Works on all tides, fatter when higher faster when lower.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when the water temperature rises to 19 degrees. In the winter we recommend wearing a 4/3 when the temps drop to 14 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
