Located in the Huvadhoo Atoll, Indian Ocean, Beacons is an excellent but heavy right hand reef break that offers up a heaving and hollow barrel when the right conditions line up. The waves here are dangerous at times, this is considered the most powerful break in the atoll, and wall up for up to 200 meters over a shallow coral reef.
What are the best surf conditions for Beacons?
Gets good between chest high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then step up as the size increases. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is somewhat consistent (6/10) and will be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Southwest. Works on all tides but the reef is always shallow.
