Aboard the Mikumba you will live on a spacious 23 meter Indonesian Phinisi style vessel. Tours range from Bali to South Lombok, The Mentawais, and recently more remote locations in the West Nusa Tenggara area. She travels at a brisk 7-8 knots allowing for quick transit between destination surf spots. Captain Willy is your guide from Australia whom has been searching for empty lineups since the late 80’s. The vessel hosts up to 10 guest with a 6-bunk sleeping cabin, plus 2 two-bunk cabins which can be good for couples as well. All cabins are air conditioned. The dining room is also air conditioned, with two large tables, TV, DVD, Stereo, and Wifi. The upper decks are large and awesome for chilling in the fresh air and watching the surf while eating, or toasting a beer to the amazing sunsets. Relax in the bean bags, sunbeds, and another large picnic table for dining with 360 degree views. The main deck has more seating and a covered board rack. The aft deck has a swim platform for boarding the tenders and transit to the spots. The tenders are a 85hp center console steel tender and an additional 18 foot, 40hp dinghy.
The 3 daily meals are healthy both in serving size and nutrition. For pre-surf breakfast grab a quick coffee, cereal, toast and fruits. When you get in order up bacon, eggs and pancakes. Lunch is typically a choice of toasted sandwiches, burgers, pastas and salads. For dinner enjoy fresh caught fish and seafood such as crab and prawns. Indonesian and Thai cuisines are served along with western favorites, from curries, to lasagna, chicken, steak, and always served with fresh produce, fruits and vegetables. There is always food available when you are hungry, and special diets are accommodated upon request. Four daily beers are included, along with cold bottled water and soft drinks.
Among the recreational gear at your disposal on board is game fishing equipment, spear fishing, snorkeling, SUP’s, yoga mats and of course the tenders for skurfing and fishing the reefs. The safety and navigation equipment are all modern and maintained, plus the crew are all certified mariners whom practice regular safety drills with Captain Willy.
