Located in Costa Verde, Peru, Pavos is an average to below-average beach break that offers upshore dump barrels better suited to bodyboarding than anything else. The waves here are challenging to surf and break for up to 50 meters (about 164 feet) over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Pavos?
Pavos gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard if not a bodyboard here. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will get busy at peak times (5/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Northwest, South, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a spring suit in the summers when water temperatures rise to 22°C (about 72°F). In the winter, a 3/2 wetsuit is best when water temperatures drop to 16°C (about 61°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
