Located in Ancash, Peru, Bermejo is a quality and uncrowded left-hand point break that offers hollow sections on the outside and rippable walls on the inside. The waves here can be challenging and break for up to 300 meters (about 984 feet) over a boulder and sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Bermejo?
Bermejo gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if smaller or on the inside section and a shortboard if bigger or on the outside sections. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here usually has something to ride (5/10) and will get busy at peak times (5/10). The best winds are from the Southeast. The best swells are from the South and Southwest. Works on a low tide.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 22°C (about 72°F). In the winter, a 3/2 wetsuit is best when water temperatures drop to 16°C (about 61°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
