Located in Santa Catarina, Brazil, Praia Brava is a decent beach break that offers up some zippy tubes when the conditions line up. The waves here are challenging and break for up to 50 meters (164 feet) over a sand bottom. The area is also known for its very active nightlife.

It gets good between chest-high and overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard, and then a step up as the size increases. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will get busy at peak times (5/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the East. It works on a low to mid-tide best.
