Located in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, Tramandai is a good pier break that offers up busy peaks on both sides of the pier that tend to barrel on the right winds. The waves here require some skill to surf and break for up to 50 meters (164 feet) over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Tramandai?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard and then a step up as the size increases. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is not the most consistent (4/10) and will always be crowded (8/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the East, South, and Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summers when water temperatures rise to 24°C (75°F). In winter, a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 13°C (55°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
