Located in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, Praia do Molhes is a fun jetty break that offers up some rippable lefts when the sand and swell align. The waves here require some skill to surf and break for up to 100 meters (328 feet) over a sand bottom. This is a popular contest site.
What are the best surf conditions for Praia dos Molhes?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard and then a step up as the size increases here. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will always have a crew on it (7/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the East and Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summers when water temperatures rise to 24°C (75°F). In winter, a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 13°C (55°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
