Located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Canto do Leblon is an excellent right-hand point break that offers up powerful and potentially big walls. The waves here are heavy and break for up to 200 meters (656 feet) over a rock and sand bottom. There is a stretch of beach break here as well that isn’t the most quality but will have some space.
What are the best surf conditions for Canto do Leblon?
It gets good between chest-high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard, then a step up, and it has reached tow size before. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will generally have a crew (7/10). The best winds are from the North. The best swells are from the East, South, and Southeast. It works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summers when water temperatures rise to 26°C (79°F). In the winter, a spring suit will work when water temperatures drop to 21°C (70°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
