Located in Littoral Paulista, Brazil, Sao Lourenco is a fun river mouth break that forms some nice sandbars at times. The waves here require some skill to surf and break for up to 100 meters (328 feet) over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Sao Lourenco?
It gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if smaller and a shortboard, then a step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is very consistent (8/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the South and Southeast. It works on all tides depending on the sandbars.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round as water temperatures range between 29°C (84°F) and 26°C (79°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
