Located in Littoral Paulista, Brazil, Bonete is a quality and isolated beach break that offers up some barreling waves when the conditions line up. The waves here require some skill to surf and break for up to 50 meters (164 feet) over a sand bottom. You’ll need to take a ferry to the island and then a drive or another boat ride.
What are the best surf conditions for Bonete?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard, then a shortboard, then a step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will be empty (1/10). The best winds are from the north. The best swells are from the east, south, and southeast. Works on a low to mid tide.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round as water temperatures fluctuate between 29°C (84°F) and 26°C (79°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
