Located on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii, Velzyland is a quality right-hand reef that offers up amazing performance-based, bowly walls as well as a square barrel section. The waves here can be challenging to surf and break for up to 150 meters over a sharp lava reef. This is also one of the most localised spots in the area, it can be very hard to get a wave.
What are the best surf conditions for Velzyland?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard here. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent, but fickle at the same time (6/10) and will get ridiculously crowded at times (9/10). The best winds are from the East and Southeast. The best swells are from the North and Northwest. Works on a mid-tide best.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini year-round here. Water temperatures range from 27 to 24. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
