Located in Washington, La Push (Route 110) around 15 miles from Highway 101. is a fun beach break inside of a cove that rolls over a cobblestone bottom, creating some fun fat peaks on the outside banks and reforms on the inside when they hit the beach. The waves here are easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters providing some fun sections for cruising as well as manoeuvres. The beachbreak on the north side can have some fun barrels in winder swells.
What are the best surf conditions for La Push?
Gets good from waist high to overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard when bigger. La Push is suitable for all levels of surfers. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and is hardly ever crowded (3/10). The best winds are offshore from the East. The best swells are from the South, Southwest, West, and Northwest. North swells are jumbled up by an island close to the cove. Works best on mid tides.
We recommend wearing a 5/4 wetsuit year-round here. In summer water temps climb to 12 degrees. In winter they drop to 7 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
