Located in Georgia, North Jetty is a poor jetty setup breaking over a sand botton. Same deal as Sugar Shack nearby, needs offshore winds to drum up waves. Waves here are easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters providing some small sections for longboarding.
What are the best surf conditions for North Jetty?
Gets good from waist high to head high. A longboard is the best choice here almost every day. The wave here are great for beginners to learn, intermediate and advanced surfers will not have too much fun. The surf here is inconsistent (3/10) and uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are onshore from the Northeast. Best swells are East and Northeast. Works best on mid to high tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 29 degrees. In winter a 4/3 is best when temps plunge to 14 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
