Located on the Western edge of Long Island in New York, Breezy Point is an OK beachy that breaks over a sand bottom. The waves here are easy to surf, breaking for up to 50 meters and providing good sections for longboarding.
What are the best surf conditions for Breezy Point?
Gets good between waist high and head high. We recommend riding a longboard here for the mush burgers. Beginners all the way to advanced surfers will be able to surf here, although beginners will have the most fun. The surf here doesn’t break very often (3/10) and is hardly ever crowded (3/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the Southwest. Works best on a medium tide.
We recommend wearing boardshorts in the summer when water temperatures climb to 23 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 with a hood, booties, and gloves are necessary for the 4-degree water. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
