Located in Cape May, New Jersey, Wildwood is a fun beach break that crashes over a sand bottom. This is a beach that receives a bunch of sand from the New Jersey beach-nourishment program. The waves here are pretty gentle and break for up to 50 meters providing great sections for cruising.
What are the best surf conditions for Wildwood?
Gets good from waist high to triple overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here most days and a shortboard when bigger. Beginner thru advanced surfers will all find something here. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and can get ridiculously crowded with all craft and swimmers in the summer (10/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells come from the East. This break works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 25 degrees. In the winter we recommend a 5/4 wetsuit in the 4-degree water. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
