Located in Cape May New Jersey, The Cove is a fun point that breaks over a sand bottom. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and peel for up to 200 meters providing great sections for cruising and manoeuvres.
What are the best surf conditions for The Cove?
Gets good from chest high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here most days, although a shortboard will work when bigger. The Cove is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers, although there will always be beginners in the lineup. The surf here is inconsistent (3/10) and will be incredibly crowded in the summer (10/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells come from the Southeast. Check this spot on a mid to low tide.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temps rise to 25 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is needed for the 4 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
