What are the best surf conditions for Avalon?
Gets good from waist high to triple overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard here when bigger. This break is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and is usually uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are offshore from the Northwest. The best swells come from the East, Northeast, South, and Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temps rise to 25 degrees. In winter a 5/4 is best when the water temps drop to 4 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
