More on States Avenue

Located in Atlantic City, New Jersey,  States Avenue (AKA Gas Chambers) is a quality pier break that runs over a sand bottom. This is considered one of the best waves in the area. The break here is powerful and unloads across a sandbar for up to 150 meters putting up some heavy sections for carves as well as the occasional barrel.

What are the best surf conditions for States Avenue?

Gets good from waist high to triple overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller but a shortboard is best when the size arrives. This wave is best for intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here usually has waves (5/10) and can get ultra crowded (9/10). The best winds come from the Northwest. The best swells come from the East, Northeast, South, and Southeast. Works More...
