Located in the Boston area in Massachusetts, Nahant is a fun but average beachy that breaks over a sand bottom. The waves here can be a bit tricky to surf and break for up to 50 meters providing some easygoing longboarding section.
What are the best surf conditions for Nahant?
Gets good from waist high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here most days and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here sometimes has a wave (4/10) and can be crowded in the summers (6/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the East or Northeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 19 degrees. In winter a 5/4 is the move when water temperatures plunge to 4 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
