Located in Texas, Surfside Pier is a fun pier setup that breaks over a sand bottom. The waves here are not always difficult to surf and break for up to 100 meters providing some great sections for manoeuvres when bigger and cruising when smaller.
What are the best surf conditions for Surfside?
Gets good from waist high to overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when the size steps up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here usually has something to ride (5/10) and can get quite crowded when good (8/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the South and Southwest. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 30 degrees. In winter a 3/2 is best when the water temperatures drop to 17 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
