Located in Texas, Boca Chica is a fun jetty setup that breaks over a sand bottom. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 150 meters providing some great sections for cruising or manoeuvres.
What are the best surf conditions for Boca Chica?
Gets good from waist high to overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard when the size steps up. this break is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and is usually not too crowded (4/10). The best winds are from the West. The best wells are from the East, North, Northeast, and Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 30 degrees. In winter a 3/2 is best when the water temperatures drop to 17 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
