Located on the Gulf Coast of Texas, Bob Hall Pier is a quality pier spot that breaks over a sand bottom. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters providing some excellent sections for manoeuvres as well as the occasional barrel.
What are the best surf conditions for Bob Hall Pier?
Gets good from waist high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when the waves are smaller and a shortboard when the swell hits. This break is suitable for intermediate as well as advanced surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and usually crowded (8/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the East, Northeast, South, and Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 30 degrees. In winter a 3/2 is best when water temps drop to 17 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
