More on Hooks

Located on the East coast of Florida, Hooks is a fun beachie that breaks over a sand bottom. The waves here are tricky to surf and break for up to 100 meters providing some hollow and heavy barrels.

What are the best surf conditions for Hooks?

Gets good from chest high to overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard here when the waves are on. This beach break is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10). and is usually very very crowded (9/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the Northeast. Works only on high tide.

We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 28 degrees. In winter a 4/3 is best when water temperatures fall to 15 More...
