Located on the East coast of Florida, Stuart Public Beach is a fun beachie, breaking over a sand bottom. The waves here generally break on an outer bar at low tides and a shore break at lower ones can link up when good. The break can be tricky to surf and breaks for up to 50 meters providing some great sections for hacks and turns.
What are the best surf conditions for Stuart Public Beach?
Gets good from waist high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suited to all levels of surfer. The surf here is somewhat consistent (5/10) and generally will have a pack on it (6/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the East, North, Northeast, and Southeast. Works on all tides but changes with them as mentioned above.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 29 degrees. In winter a spring suit will be fine in the 22-degree water. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
