Located just south of Rincon in Ventura County, Southern California, La Conchita is a fun beach break providing great sections for turns and even the occasional barrel. Some waves are tricky to surf and can break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for La Conchita?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard here. La Conchita will have something on offer for all levels of surfers depending on the size of the swell. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and hardly ever crowded (4/10). The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. The best winds blow from the Northeast. The best tides are low to mid.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit here in the summer when the water temperature peaks at 18 degrees. The best winter suit is a 4/3 when water temperatures drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
