Located in Ventura County in Southern California, Faria Beach is a pretty good beach break that offers some great sections for high performance manoeuvres. The waves here require a bit of skill to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a cobblestone bottom. A good summer spot.
What are the best surf conditions for Faria Beach?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard when the size comes through. Faria beach is suitable for all levels of surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and is big enough that crowds are not a problem (4/10). The best winds are from the Northeast, the best swells come from the Northwest, South, Southwest, and West, the best tides are lower and incoming.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 18 degrees. In the winter we recommend wearing a 4/3 wetsuit when water temperatures drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
