Found in Ventura County in Southern California, Emma Wood is a quality reef that delivers punchy walls and powerful, hollow sections. The reef is an offshore a frame with the rights usually better than the left. The beach break on the inside can also get quite good. The waves here are pretty heavy and break for up to 50 meters over a boulder and sand covered bottom.. The drops are usually heavy and hollow, be aware of any boulders lurking below.
What are the best surf conditions for Emma Wood?
Gets good between chest high and triple overhead. A shortboard or step up are the boards of choice here. Emma Wood is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent, especially in winter (6/10). However, it can get crowded pretty quickly here (7/10). The best winds are offshore from the Northeast. The best swells are big winter ones from the Northwest or West. Works on all tides.
