Found in Oxnard, Ventura County, in Southern California, Silver Strand is an excellent beach break that provides sections for turns and in the winter massive, yawning barrels. The waves here can be challenging to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a hard packed sand bottom. If you’ve seen beach break barrels from Southern California on a surf magazine, it’s probably from this spot. Always something to surf in the summer, and the barrels are quite consistent in the winter.
What are the best surf conditions for Silver Strand?
Gets good between waist high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard here more days than not. Silver Strand is suitable for all levels of surfers depending on the size of the swell.
