Located in Southern Orange County, Southern California, 204s is a fun beach break over a sand bottom. Named after the signpost on the railroad tracks, the waves here are pretty east to surf and break for up to 50 meters, providing fun sections for manoeuvres.
What are the best surf conditions for 204s?
Gets good between waist high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when bigger. 204s is best suited to beginner thru advanced surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will usually have a group on it (7/10). Best on a peaky swell from the South, Southwest, or West. The best winds are from the Northeast. Works best on a mid to high tide.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 20 degrees. In the winter when water temperatures fall to 15 degrees, a 4/3 is the outfit of choice. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
