In Marin County, Northern California, you will find the reef break that is Bolinas (also called the Patch). The wave is formed over a long rocky reef that extends from the cliffs at the northern side of the beach. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and crumble for up to 150 meters. These waves are perfect for learning and cruising.
Gets good between waist high up to overhead, it rarely gets bigger. A longboard is always the best choice for this spot, the waves are not steep and can be quite weak.
