Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard when bigger. Salt Creek has something to offer all levels of surfers up and down the beach. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will be packed, especially in the summer (9/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Northwest, South, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides depending on the chosen peak.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when the water temperature rises to 20 degrees. In winter we recommend wearing a 4/3 wetsuit with temps being a brisk 15 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
