Located in North Orange County in Southern California, 7th Street is a fun beach break/consistent sandbar that peels left, over a sand bottom. The waves can be a bit tricky but break for 50 meters or so providing deep tubing sections to get barreled.
What are the best surf conditions for 7th Street?
Gets good from waist high to double overhead. A shortboard is best here due to the steepness of the wave. This wave is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers for the same reason. The surf here is semi-consistent (5/10) and will be crowded when it is working (8/10). Needs a big South or Southwest swell to start pumping. The best winds are from the Northeast and the best tides are mid.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures climb to 20 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when the water temperatures drop to 15 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
