Located in Virginia, 1st Street Jetty is an OK jetty setup that breaks over a well-formed sandbar. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters, providing some great sections for manoeuvres or cruising.
What are the best surf conditions for 1st Street Jetty?
Gets good from waist high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when bigger. This break is great for all levels of surfer as the crowd can attest to. There is usually something to surf here (5/10) and it gets insanely crowded, especially in summer (10/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells come from the South. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temps rise to 27 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is necessary with water temps dropping to 5 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
