Located in Delaware, Naval Jetties is the only point break in Delaware. It peels over a sand bottom for up to 200 meters. When good the waves are challenging to make but barrel hard. On other days the waves can be slow and mushy. Locals can be a little bit grumpy at times.
What are the best surf conditions for Naval Jetties?
Gets good from chest high to double overhead. We recommend riding your longboard when small and a shortboard when bigger. This break is suitable for all levels of surfers depending on the swell. The surf here is not consistently good (2/10) and can get busy when it is (5/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are hurricanes from the Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 25 degrees. In winter the water temperatures drop to 5 degrees necessitating a 5/4 wetsuit. see the temperature chart below for more data on this.
