Located on Nias Island, Secrets is a left-hand reef break that offers up rippable sections. The waves here are not the easiest to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a coral reef. This spot is a bit of a swell magnet and is best on those smaller ones.
What are the best surf conditions for Secret (Nias)?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard or a step-up as the size increases. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the South, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round. In summer water temperatures rise to 29 degrees before dropping only to 25 degrees in the winter. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
