Located in Sumbawa, Indonesia, Nunga’s is an excellent bigger wave left hander that offers up a long wave with barrel sections and rippable walls. The waves here can be challenging and break for up to 200 meters over a coral reef. Gets better as it gets bigger.
What are the best surf conditions for Nunga’s?
Gets good between head high to triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard, then step up, then gun as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will be busy at times (5/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the South, Southeast, or Southwest. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year round. Water temperatures range from 28 to 25 year round. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
