Located in East Anglia, England, Bacton is a beach break set up with plenty of groynes to anchor the sand offering good sections for manoeuvres and sometimes barrels. The waves here are easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Bacton?
Gets good between waist high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is not consistent (2/10) and will get busy on weekends and holidays (5/10). The best winds are from the Southwest. The best swells are from the East, North, Northeast, Northwest, and Southeast. Works on a mid to high tide best.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 7 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
