Located in Northern Devon, Westward Ho! is an OK beach break that offers up some mushy sections perfect for beginners and longboarders. The waves here are easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom.
Gets good between waist high to overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here at all sizes. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 8 degrees. See More...
