Located in Northern Devon, England, Putsborough is a fun beach break that offers up some reasonable peaks with good sections for manoeuvres. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. Rip next to the cliff makes getting out easier.
What are the best surf conditions for Putsborough?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when bigger. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is somewhat consistent (5/10) and will usually have a crew on it (6/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 8 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
