Located in Northern Cornwall, England, Harlyn is a decent beach break that offers shelter from storms and good waves for performance manoeuvres when the conditions line up. The waves here are easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. Needs a big swell to get going, but if elsewhere is stormy this is the spot to be.
What are the best surf conditions for Harlyn?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. All levels of surfer will have fun here. The surf here is somewhat consistent (5/10) and will have a crew when it is on (7/10). The best winds are from the SW. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West and BIG. Works on a mid-tide.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 9 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
