Located in Northern Cornwall, England, Crackington Haven is an alright beach break that is generally a bit mushy, perfect for longboarding or beginners. The break is quite sheltered which leads to the lack of power. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a rock and sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Crackington Haven?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. All levels of surfer will find something here. The surf here is somewhat consistent (4/10) and will have a dedicated crew of locals on it (6/10). The best winds are from the Southeast. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 9 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
