Located in South Devon/Cornwall, England, Pentewan is a fun beachie that can offer up some good waves for manoeuvres and barrels when the conditions line up. The waves here are not easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sand bottom. Needs a massive South swell to wrap around the bay, so does not break often.
What are the best surf conditions for Pentewan?
Gets good between waist high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. All level of surfers will have fun here. The surf here is not consistent (2/10) and will get busy when it does break (5/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the South and Southwest. Best at mid to high when it can get hollow.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 17 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 9 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
